Foko Retail Gives Back: Water Purification System for Village in India

Access to clean water is a fundamental human right—yet sadly, an estimated one in nine people still don’t have access to safe drinking water, leading to poor hygiene and easily preventable diseases.

That’s why we’re giving back this holiday season by partnering with SOPAR-Bala Vikasa—a non-profit organization devoted to sustainable development in India—to provide a water purification system that provides fresh, clean water to over 2,000 people. To learn how it works, head here.

“This year we wanted to give back by working with an organization that would have the biggest impact on the largest number of people—partnering with SOPAR was a no-brainer,” says Marc Gingras, CEO of Foko Retail. “By giving villagers a low-upkeep water purification system, we’re not only guaranteeing sustainable health in the form of safe and affordable drinking water, but also helping communities help themselves since the water purification system is ultimately owned and run by the community.”

We are hoping to raise $5,000 by the end of December 2018. Please consider donating—even a few dollars gets us closer to our goal.
